Slow Cooker Turkey Chili is one of my favorite meals and I’ve always wanted to make a recipe to call all my own. So, if you like it sweet, savory and with a little spice, this is the recipe for you. We’ve been making this recipe for years and it’s always a hit when friends and family are around. Anytime we announce that we are making it, suddenly we have a full house! Thankfully, I’m quick on the draw when it comes to Charcuterie Boards, as this is my only defense for keeping the wolves at bay.
Here are just a few reasons why we love this recipe so much:
- It simply tastes amazing.
- It’s a quick and easy slow cooker turkey chili recipe.
- Servings are low calories.
- It’s great for any event or potluck.
- It’s a delicious way to end a fall day or even a summer barbeque.
Slow Cooker Chili Recipe Ingredients
- Ground Turkey: We love to use turkey in this chili recipe because it’s lean and pairs well with all the other flavors. If you would like to substitute this ingredient for ground beef, go for it!
- Bell Peppers: Peppers are a staple in our house and we always have a few in our refrigerator. We are huge fans of the sweetness of the red and yellow peppers, but the green pepper adds to the overall taste.
- Yellow Onions: These tend to have a bigger flavor than your average white onion. No need to be however, white will taste great as well if you prefer.
- Beans: We always go with Maple Cured Baked beans. Simply put, they add a great sweetness to the sauce.
- Tomatoes: Zesty Chili Style Tomatoes contain the right number of spices to add to the amazing flavor.
- Pineapple: The Pineapple chunks is where the sweetness comes from and pairs well with the mild tamed jalapeño.
- Jalapeño: This is the ingredient that helps you win cookoffs. I like to use mild tamed jalapeños simply because I want the flavor and not all the spice. If you prefer to make it spicier, take it up a notch!
- Cholula: My not so secret, secret ingredient. The cat is out of the bag here with this flavor bomb. We love Cholula because it’ just spicy enough, even for the novices.
- Brown Sugar: Trust us. You’ll love it.

How to make Amazing Jalapeño Pineapple Slow Cooker Chili
Step 1
Dice the Red Pepper, Green Pepper, Yellow Pepper, and one of the Yellow Onions, mince the Garlic, then toss them in the slow cooker.
Step 2
Heat up a large skillet with 1Tbps of Olive oil then sauté the extra Yellow Onion for approximately 5 minutes or until softened.
Step 3
Now drop the Ground Turkey into the skillet and sauté it until it is cooked all the way through while breaking it up with your spatula or my favorite, a meat masher. Once the Turkey has been cooked thoroughly, season the turkey and onions with salt and pepper, mix it around, then toss them into the slow cooker.
Step 4
Add all the following vegetables, legumes, and fruits into the slow cooker Zesty Chili Style Diced Tomatoes, Golden Sweet Whole Kernel Corn, Maple Cured Baked Beans, and Pineapple Chunks, Tamed Jalapeño, and Cholula to the slow cooker.
Step 5
Now for the spices which include Basil, Salt, Pepper, Cumin, Chili Powder, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Ground Red Cayenne Pepper, and Brown Sugar.
Step 6
Let the slow cooker simmer on high for 4 hours, and you’re done! Personally, I like to let it sit in the fridge overnight to let all the flavors meld together.
What to top it with?
There are plenty of ingredients to top the chili with. Sour cream, fresh onion, shredded cheddar cheese, and tortilla chips are some family favorites. Another option is to put them into sourdough bread bowls from your local bakery.
